USD is mixed but mostly higher
At the start of the North American session for the day and the week, the GBP is the strongest, while the NZD is the weakest. The USD is mixed but mostly higher (modestly) vs the major currencies. Changes are relatively modest with the changes for the major pairs, close together.
The ranges for the day, help to show the quiet nature of the market. The USDJPY, USDCHF, USDCAD, AUDUSD and NZDUSD have low to high ranges of 21 to 31 pips. That is not a lot of price action and all are well below their 22 day average ranges (about a month of trading). The EURUSD and GBPUSD have a more respectable range of about 48 pips each but each are also well below their 22 day averages. It is Monday. It is still summertime trading. There are not releases out of Canada or the US today, but BOC Wilkens will speak at 9:15 AM ET/1315 GMT. Fed's Bostic speaks at 11 AM ET/1500 GMT.
