NZD is the strongest. The JPY is the weakest.
How are the currencies lining up in early trading for the day?
Ranking the strongest and the weakest, the NZD is the strongest, while the JPY is the weakest.
The other currencies are sitting scrunched together with little separating the strongest from the weakest.
The JPY crosses are all doing well. There were comments earlier from BOJ's Kataoka saying BOJ has to take easing steps to push up inflation. Although the JPY is weaker, it is not really running away either. The USDJPY is up 14 pips, the EURJPY is up 21 pips, the GBPJPY is up 22 pips. Still those changes are the best from the rest.
The USD is little changed after comments from Fed's Kashkari and Dudley. Kashkari was his usual dovish self while Dudley was a bit more confident about growth and inflation.
