Australian Merchandise Imports up 4.6% in March

Australia’s merchandise imports rose 4.6% to A$17.318 bio in March, unadjusted from a revised A$16.551 bio in Feb. Merchandise imports on a balance of payments fell by 4% to A$17.73 bio seansonally adjusted between Feb and March.

Imports and other goods fell A$639 mio or 32% with non-monetary gold down A$806 mio Capital goods fell 12% and intermediate and other merchandise goods fell 3%.

AUDUSD was unchanged after the numbers.
