Japan’s Trade Balance for April lodged a surplus of 69 Bio Yen instead of the 57.5 Bio Yen shortfall that was expected.

Japan Exports fell 39.1% in April yr/yr, slightly better than the forecast of -41.9% and adding to groing signd that the worst may be over. On a s/adj basis, exports rose 1.9% in April from March.

April Imports fell 35.8%, once again slightly better than the forecast of -36.7%.

USDJPY drifted off 10 pips on the numbers but regained those points quickly.
