Canadian finance minister Flaherty says the appreciation of the Canadian dollar has been relatively rapid and he is watching with concern.
USD/CAD is a shade firmer in the wake of the comments, at 1.0900 after a dip just below 1.0900 a short while ago. Oil has lost ab out a $1 from session highs, helping prompt some modest profit-taking as well, on long CAD positions.
