Tomorrow ( Thursday 28th ) sees the parliamentary by-election for the constituency of Eastleigh, made vacant by the Lib Dem MP Christopher Huhne’s resignation after lying over a driving fine for speeding, and then subsequently admitted to it.

This will be a closely contested seat now with the coalition parties in direct opposition, and could well impact on the Pound, given its already vulnerable state. The market will be looking at how close the opposition Labour party and the anti-EU UKIP party come to making a dent in the vote.
