US Secretary of State John Kerry says Obama will ask Congress to authorize an attack that would degrade and deter Assad’s ability to use chemical weapons. Refusal to act would undermine US credibility, including the pledge to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons.
So if you’re a Syrian general and reading that, what do you think? Dig in and hide? Or take cover in civilian areas and be prepared to record/stage footage of civilian deaths to sway the American public further against attacks. Then carry on as usual.
The whole operation seems pointless and will only prolong the civil war and worsen the suffering.
