Chancellor Merkel is desperate to secure her return to power and as this Sunday’s German election approaches, her Christian Democrats (CDU) are pulling out all the stops to get out the vote in a last ditch effort to avoid a coalition with the center-left Social Democrats (SPD). Today her party is sending out 5 million letters to people across the country in a last ditch bid for votes.
