Fears that ebola could spread to Nigerian mega-city Lagos are proving to be well founded. A doctor has tested positive for the disease after he treated the Liberian man who flew into Lagos sick with ebola.
The Minister of Health, Onyebuchi Chukwu, also said that eight persons that had first degree contact with the Liberian before he got to the hospital had also been quarantined and are under strict observation.
Business Insider also reports that shares of a company that is developing treatment for ebola are surging.
Ultimately, fears about a true ebola outbreak are far-fetched. The disease is much more difficult to spread than a cold or flu but with cases continuing to mount, fears will ratchet higher before they dissipate.
