Separatism is is like a fire you can never put out. Sometimes it’s a wildfire and sometimes a faint smudge.
The referendum in Scotland has helped rekindle the separatist movement in Catalonia and today for Catalan national day as many as 500,000 people marched in Barcelona demanding a vote on independence.

A plebiscite on independence is planned in two months but the central government says it will not be allowed to go ahead.

I think the Scotland referendum will fail but it may succeed in sparking separatist movements elsewhere. If Catalonia ultimately separates, it will do the same.
