National Australia Bank:

  • The Bank of Japan meeting is the only notable event in the Asian timezone, but this too likely to be a non-event and no change is widely expected; the bank normally releases its statement in the early afternoon)

Westpac:

  • The Bank of Japan decision is expected to be keep policy on hold with inflation still well below target. Kuroda justified the accommodative policy in a speech earlier this month and was optimistic that inflation will eventually return to target as the unemployment rate approaches 2% from the current 2.8%.
