Oh dear. Far be it from me to question his analysis but this does seem rather thin?

Haldane was on UK media, ITV, in an interview when he made the comment. Link to Reuters for the report. He continued:

  • "And if that happens then some of those savings ... do get spent. Even a small amount of them, we are talking about a pretty rip-roaring recovery."

I really hope he is right. Folks in the UK are doing it really hard, and have been for many months. And maybe he has a better basis for his projections than chatter.
