Coming up from Australia today ... GS will tell us to chill out again, then we'll get the GDP for Q3 which will further reinforce that message
0010GMT is the time Stevens will speak. He is way over in the west of Australia (great place WA), in Perth, where the local time will be 8.10am for his speech ... no bankers' hours for GS!
- The title of the speech is "Economic Conditions and Prospects", so we can expect some market-relevant headlines. I was surprised Stevens didn't talk donw the AUD in his statement yesterday ... maybe today I reckon ...
0030GMT - Q3 GDP. After the run of good data late last week and again yesterday most economists have been furiously revising their forecasts for this higher (though some have revised forecasts down).
- Anyway , here's the consensus median: +0.8% q/q (+2.4% y/y ... nothing to see, no recession here, move along), while Q2 (prior) was +0.2% q/q and +2.0% y/y.
