Buckle up
All eyes will be on signals from the Federal Reserve next week. A July cut was briefly no longer fully priced in after today's jobs report. If Fed officials show signs of wavering, there will be some real soul searching.
Here is who is speaking and when:
Tuesday:
- Bullard 1410 GMT
- Bostic 1800 GMT
Wednesday:
- Powell in Day 1 of Humphrey Hawkins in the House at 1400 GMT. Note that the text of this is sometimes released at end-of-day (US) on Tuesday
- Bullard 1730 GMT
- FOMC Minutes 1800 GMT
Thursday:
- Powell in Day 2 of Humprey Hawkins in the Senate at 1400 GMT. The text of Day 2 is always the same and headlines are rarely market moving
- Williams 1510 GMT
- Bostic at 1615 GMT
- Kashkari at 2100 GMT
Friday:
- Evans at 1400 GMT
Of course more appearances could be scheduled and more Fed speakers can (and probably will) appear on TV.
