The subpoenas were sent Dec 6

I'm not sure whether this matters or not but Bloomberg has added a detail to its story about CFTC sending a subpoena to Bitfinex and Tether. They now report that the notices were sent Dec 6 previously, no timeline was disclosed.

Does it matter?

If you're a crypto bull it's old news but it doesn't change the central question that regulators are looking closely. The real headline will be if they act and today's report at least raises some suspicions that they might.

Another interesting note is how much Tether has been created since the subpoena. It climbed to $2.3 billion from $816m in the following six weeks.
