More from Reuters on the matter

Japan's Financial Services Agency is to probe other cryptocurrency exchanges in lieu of the incident that took place last week at Coincheck.

Local authorities are starting to show a bit of concern on the issue, even requesting for Coincheck to submit a report on the hacking incident by 13 February.

Japan has been one of the few countries that have been more welcoming towards cryptocurrencies - as opposed to their neighbours in South Korea - but it looks like regulators are putting their foot down here and saying that exchanges should not take advantage of that (if they are actually trying to in the first place).
