A short guide on what terms most cryptocurrency enthusiasts often use when they communicate with one another

WSJ made a neat compilation of the common terms used by cryptocurrency market players, so if you're new to the market or even just wanting to know more about it, here's some of it (I elaborated some with my own interpretation/understanding):

HODL

No, that's no typo. It's what buyers in cryptocurrencies will say, in referring to the notion that they will not sell and continue to "hold" onto their positions. The inadvertent typo is sometimes laughed at as when prices fall and the person typing it panics and mistypes the word "hold".

Moon

Usually when people talk about prices soaring, like what's the next target? "The moon". Though a term that's not often used these days as the market is well, on the flipside of the moon.

Lambo

There's a general consensus in the cryptocurrency market that the only and best way to spend your winnings is on a Lamborghini. And often, people would just ask "when Lambo?".

The flippening

The event that there will be a flip between Bitcoin and the next biggest cryptocurrency in terms of market cap. Currently, the contender for that is Ethereum. There's also a website dedicated to this here.

Satoshi

Sometimes called "sat". Mainly refers to a fraction of one Bitcoin, one hundred millionth to be exact.

Goxed

Reference to the Mt Gox incident in Japan. So, to be 'goxed' is to be unable to get your cryptocurrencies / withdrawals from an exchange - particularly if there are rumours of hacking or a shut down.
