After yesterday's blink-and-you-missed it leadership contest, the contender for the PMs job is now in deep, deep doo-doo

  • The childcare company operated for Peter Dutton's family trust received more than $5.6 million in public Commonwealth funding, placing the Liberal leadership contender in danger of being ineligible to remain in Parliament.

There is no question of corruption (and he isn't the only one of these … gentlemen … to have his snout deep in the public trough), but questions are raised on Dutton's elegibility for parliament (if it comes to that, he looks in trouble even holding his seat at this stage)

  • "I do think there is a danger for him," Professor Anne Twomey said."I think there is a reasonable case for his disqualification but he also has a reasonable defence. It is a real case and I would describe it as borderline."
