- BOE governor Mervyn King has re-appointed chief economist Spencer Dale to another 3 year term as a member of the Monetary Policy Comittee
- Dale’s current term was due to expire on May 31
- He will now serve on the MPC until the end of May 2016.
- First first joined the MPC in July 2008.
- Considered hawkish on interest rate/monetary policy
