Barnier talks tough on Brexit
The pound surged last Wednesday after EU negotiator Michel Barnier hinted at a better Brexit deal but he returned to the tough talk on the weekend.
He said he was "strongly opposed" to Theresa May's Chequers proposals on future trade. He warned there would be fewer British cars in European autos.
The comments may weight on sterling at the open.
