Canadian retail sales data for June 2018

  • Prior was +2.0% (revised to +2.2%)

  • Ex autos -0.1% vs -0.1% exp

  • Prior ex-autos +1.4% (revised to +1.7%)

  • Sales down in 6 of 11 subsectors

  • Ex-autos and gas stations, sales up 0.3%

  • Q2 sales +1.0% vs -0.5% in Q1

  • On a year-over-year basis, retail e-commerce rose 18.0%

The Canadian economists nailed it but the revisions add a bit of strength and USD/CAD has ticked lower.
