ECB policy maker Ardo Hansson speaking in an interview with MNI
- Cutting QE to zero after September must be an option
- QE likely to end in September, except if still more is needed
- The issue of how to take the final steps to phase out QE is a relatively minor point
- ECB leaves options open to both sides (increasing back QE), in case the EU outlook deteriorates
Relatively back and forth words from Hansson. Doesn't sound too convincing, does he?
It's still early days to be talking about the end of QE or backtracking for the ECB. Let's not jump ahead of the gun. EUR/USD now basically unchanged for the day at 1.1900.
