A preview of what is coming up in European trading later

Howdy, everyone! It's the final day of the trading week but what a day it has been so far. I hope you're all doing well, as there is much to catch up on and to look at in the market today (not on the calendar front though).

Equities are being hammered in Asia with the Nikkei leading declines, falling by more than 4%. In the FX space, the yen and the swissie are the lead gainers but the rest of the major currencies are not far behind. The weakest performer? Surprise, surprise. It's the dollar. What else is new, eh?

Anyway, here is what's on the calendar later today in Europe:

0745 GMT - France Q4 final wage growth data

Preliminary reading can be found here. Not a major data point by any means. Especially on a day when the market is focused with so much more other stuff.

1210 GMT - Atlanta Fed head Bostic speaks at the Knoxville Economics Forum

He'll speak about economic outlook. There will be an audience Q&A after his speech.

1230 GMT - BOE member Vlieghe speaks at the Birmingham Chamber of Commerce

No details of the speech are given.

That's about it. A rather bare one on the calendar today. That puts the focus entirely on the trade front. The EU has been granted exemption until 2 May for that matter, so let's see how European equities react to that in the wake of a looming trade war between China and US.

I wish you all a great day ahead, and as always, good luck with your trading!
