The ECB meet on Thursday March 7 2019. UBS have a detailed note, this a very brief summary of the main focus
- The focus of next week's ECB meeting will likely be the ECB's new macro forecasts and their implications for monetary policy. We previously argued that the ECB would likely unveil a new (T)LTRO facility on 7 March, but following recent indications from ECB policy makers, we now believe the ECB might confine itself to setting a strong signal next week that the TLTROs are coming - for example by "tasking the relevant committees" to prepare concrete proposals - and only unveil details at the subsequent meeting on 10 April (or 6 June)
More (again, very brief)
- the new macro projections from Bank staff are likely to show a substantial cut in the growth forecast
- 2019/20 inflation forecasts likely to be revised down (weaker oil)
