European Council president Donald Tusk speaks in France

  • Says that Brexit talks must continue
  • Is sure that longer transition period would be acceptable for EU27

Tusk is referring to a possible November summit to be called upon in the headline comment. Right now, there still isn't any way forward in Brexit negotiations as the Irish backstop/border remains one of the key major sticking points. But at least there's the outside possibility that we may yet see a November Brexit summit.

That aside, Theresa May needs to also get parliament on her side first before she can really propose anything of note to the EU.
