- Prior m/m -1.2%; revised to -1.0%
- Retail sales y/y +4.4% vs +2.3% expected
- Prior y/y -1.4%; revised to -0.9%
Delay in the release of the data point by Destatis by almost 2 minutes, supposed to be released at 0700 GMT.
A major beat on the data. It's much higher than expectations - though don't look too much into it, the data point can heavily fluctuate. Just take note of last month's expectations of +0.3% m/m, which then came in at -1.2% originally.
Black Friday effect in Germany, maybe? Hmm. EUR/USD not really moving much, trading near session lows on the day at 1.2056. I mentioned in the calendar preview, minor data points like these don't tend to take precedence on NFP Friday.
