The delayed figures from Easter is starting to show up in the past two days with total active cases rising back to ~230,800. Meanwhile, total deaths have risen to 78,003.
The 7-day incidence rate keeps on the higher side at 110.4 and should see a further uptick next week once the Easter holiday period expires from the calculation.
Again, what is more worrying is that healthcare capacity continues to be stretched rather thin. The number of COVID-19 patients requiring intensive care rose to 4,474 (+35) as of yesterday with there being just 2,988 (13%) intensive care beds still available.
As a reminder, German chancellor Merkel will be meeting with state leaders on Monday to discuss further on the next steps on virus measures.
