Says that Ireland has commented that it wants assurance from EU chief Brexit negotiator Michel Barnier that UK is not 'backsliding' on the border issue if EU leaders are to endorse a transitional agreement during the EU Summit to come later this week.
It was reported earlier that Irish foreign minister Simon Coveney has met up with EU officials earlier in the day to be briefed on the Irish border situation.
Doesn't do much to change the picture, but let's see what the EU has to say later on the matter.
