  • Prior 10.8%; revised to 10.9%

A miss on the unemployment figures there, higher than expected. Even the revision to prior figures was adjusted higher.

Not substantial, but certainly not welcome news for EU officials who are looking for tighter labour markets across Europe to boost wages.

And on the local front, with the elections coming, certainly an issue that will be highlighted as well - but the spike here takes away all the positivity that we've seen over the last year in which the unemployment figures have declined.
