Slight delay in the release by the source. Another month, another low for Japanese consumer confidence as the reading here prints at its weakest since November 2014. This continues to highlight weakening sentiment towards the economy since last year.
The index here measures the households' confidence on the economy, a minor indicator of financial confidence in some ways. This just adds to pile of economic data that is continuing to warrant concerns about the government's plans to raise the sales tax in October.
