There was a bigger earthquake earlier this year off Sumatra, a magnitude 7.8. There was a tsunami warning issued after that earthquake but so far I haven't seen one related to today's quake.

Oil traders will take particular note of Indonesian earthquakes, Indonesia is an oil producer and was significant exporter in the past, but imports oil now. The country is also a significant producer of natural gas.
