New Zealand current account balance data for the January to March quarter of 2018
- current account surplus in the first quarter
- quarterly surplus was NZ$0.182 billion (from a deficit of NZ$2.745 billion in the previous quarter)
- seasonally adjusted quarterly deficit was NZ$3.048 billion from NZ$2.005 billion in the previous quarter.
- Annual deficit to March was NZ$7.911 billion (equating to 2.8 percent of gross domestic product, up from 2.7% the previous quarter ….. which is the 'but' in the headline I'm referring to …. not too big a but though)
