Economists suddenly want to know more about pornography, yeah…suddenly.
It’s not that all you lowlifes are looking at naked girls when you should be working. The Washington Post highlights a 22K drop in the motion picture/recording jobs category of the non-farm payrolls report.
News reports would suggest that pornography is a strong possibility. More specifically, the temporary shutdown of America’s adult film industry last month. In the middle of August, an adult actress, who goes by the name Cameron Bay, tested positive for the HIV virus. That prompted studios to stop filming… It appears that the shutdown fell in the window when the government was collecting its jobs data for the month.
Update: We’re hearing now that the shutdown was Aug 20-27, which was after the payrolls survey. Guess we can go back to blaming porno for all of societies other ills but not joblessness.
