European equities down to session lows now
As stocks came back online in European trading earlier, equities tracked lower but have accelerated losses in the past half-hour with the DAX now seen down by 1.5%.
US futures are also taking a heavier knock as they fell from flat levels to be down by around 0.7% to 0.8% currently.
There's no particular catalyst driving the move but perhaps more liquidity trickling in is helping investors to settle into a firmer risk direction after the "dead" start to European trading.
In turn, this is still keeping the yen bid with USD/JPY near 107.50 with the US dollar also picking up further gains on the session. EUR/USD is now down to a low of 1.1195 with AUD/USD also falling to a session low of 0.6883 at the moment.
The focus for risk will turn back towards US coronavirus figures later in the day, with the market moving past the quarter-end dressing period that we saw yesterday.
