The bill needed 60 votes
Voting continues but more than 40 Senators have already voted against the bill, which will leave it short of the 60 votes needed. It will be interesting to see if it makes it to 50 votes; enough for a simple majority.
A second vote on a bill to fund the government through February 8 will take place next.
Update: The final vote was 51-47 with two not voting. Republicans Tom Cotton and Mike Lee were the only ones to oppose it while Democrat Joe Manchin supported it. Rand Paul and Jim Risch didn't vote.
