Merkel’s party has agreed to push for a European financial transaction tax in coalition talks with the SPD, according to a negotiator from the SPD cited by Reuters and Bloomberg.
It’s still not clear if a tax is feasible but it would be a grand experiment, surely hurting profits for financials but with otherwise unknown effects.
