This is being reported by the BBC, with Buzzfeed senior political correspondent, Alex Wickham, saying that this would convince the vast majorities of MPs to vote for the Brady Amendment. I'm not denying the sensibility there but in the bigger picture, how is this different from the situation ahead of the initially planned meaningful vote in December? Sheesh.
With regards to the EU, the game of political chicken continues where May is basically telling the European leaders to make changes to the backstop or the UK will threaten a no-deal Brexit outcome, while the EU is not blinking and counting on an upheaval that will possibly lead towards a second referendum.
In short, we've gone round and round in circles over the past two months and we're back to where we started. Don't you just love Brexit?
