Happy Thursday, one and all! It's been an eventful session in Asian trading with the dollar leading the charge on the day so far. The aussie is on the back foot as Australian politics are in the spotlight as prime minister Malcolm Turnbull faces questions surrounding his position. The session ahead has a lot on the menu in terms of data so hopefully we'll get to see some action as well.
Some market themes to consider on the day:
- Aussie remains under pressure as a myriad of factors weigh
- Dollar appears to have found a near-term base but buyers still have much work to do
- US politics still in focus but impact slowly fading
- FOMC minutes reaffirm September hike, but little mention of December
- US stocks see longest bull market in history but futures are a tad lower at the moment
It's certainly promising to be an interesting end to the week. What are your views on the market right now? Share your thoughts/ideas with the rest of the ForexLive community here.
