- Non-EU trade balance -£5.37 bn vs -£3.00 bn expected
- Prior -£3.64 bn; revised to -£3.22 bn
The goods trade balance is the largest deficit since September 2016. Not much else to comment on this report. The focus now is on the poor figures seen in the manufacturing, industrial, and construction output.
Sterling marked lower still falling below the 1.3400 handle to a low of 1.3381 now against the dollar.
