Latest data released by the UK Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders - 5 January 2018
The data tracks the number of motor vehicles newly registered for the month in question. Not the most useful data point in all honesty. Earlier data (new car sales) in the day provides a better gauge to the auto sector - and we saw that it fell to the biggest drop since the recession.
