Votes to come ahead of Article 50 extension
The UK will vote on a motion to extend Article 50 later today but first parliament will have the opportunity to vote on four amendments:
- Amendment H calls for a 2nd Brexit referendum
- Amendment I seeks to pave the way for a vote on Brexit options
- Amendment E seeks more time to find a common way through the Brexit impasse
- There's a fourth amendment (J) as well, which I believe is to block May from holding a 3rd meaningful vote
What's interesting is that he didn't choose the amendment that would have rejected a second referendum, which is the one that had the most signatures.
I'll have more details on the indications of all of them later but the main motion is key today. It would aim to authorize May to extend Article 50. It will surely pass.
