Further comments by UK finance minister, Philip Hammond
- If there is no consensus behind May's deal, lawmakers have to decide on alternative
- It is clear that lawmakers who voted against May's deal are thinking it over again
- Says that some Tory lawmakers who rejected the deal are reconsidering
- Says lawyers are coming out with more reflections on the deal and Cox may want to consider what they are saying
The comment in bold there is something to take note of, it's basically a hint that attorney general Cox may have more to say and update his legal advice to possibly get May's deal across the finish line. Even if it isn't, Hammond is in some ways pressuring Cox to do so with the comments above at the very least.
Either way, the pound is liking all this sentiment talk as we hop on the see-saw yet again. Cable now moves towards nearly flat levels on the day at 1.3330 currently.
