US advance goods trade balance
- advanced good trade deficit -72.1B vs -72.7B estimate
- imports fell 2.7% to $206.709B from $212.35B in March
- exports fell -4.2% in April to $134.59 billion from $140.476 billion in March
- wholesale March trade inventories rose 0.7% in April to $674.5 billion
- retail trade inventories rose 0.5% in April to $660.9 billion
- A year ago the goods trade deficit was -$68.939
With all the rhetoric on trade the deficit remains large. The pieces of this report is worrrisome in that both imports and exports fell/inventories rose.
