WH trade advisor Navarro: Tariffs with Mexico may not have to go into effect

Trade hawk, turns soft

The White House trade advisor Peter Navarro is on the wires saying:

• tariffs with Mexico may not have to go into effect

Navarro is typically a trade hawk. He seems to have gone soft on this one (of course the tariff is a "tool" to get Mexico to stop immigration flows vs a trade related tariff).

The 5% tariffs are expected to go into effect on June 10.
