This follows after Biden's earlier remarks in Tokyo here. China's foreign ministry spokesman has come out to say that:
"No one should underestimate the firm resolve, staunch will and strong ability of the Chinese people in defending national sovereignty and territorial integrity."
It's pretty clear what the message entails and who it is directed to.
