Well, there is room for optimism but we may still be far from a real peace being brokered between Russia and Ukraine.
For now, Russia is supposedly toning down hostilities (not exactly confirmed by military reports though) as Ukraine presents a fresh proposal for a new security system guarantee. It remains to be seen what the next step forward is for both sides but more talks will be commencing again tomorrow. Eamonn had the post on that earlier here.
