A senior US defense official is saying that there are no indications - at least at this time - that Russia is prepared to use tactical nuclear weapons.
At one point, there was a more of a concern. Putin referred to the use of nuclear in public speeches, but has been more quiet on the subject and intelligence backs up the calmer rhetoric. Nevertheless, military action continues of course, and hopes for peace/cease-fire are still elusive.
