UK house prices picked up in the final month of the year for a third month running, with the average house price nudging up to £287,105 - its highest since March 2023. On an annual basis, house prices actually were up by 1.7% as the latest increase tips the scales and that's quite a defiance to the expectation considering higher interest rates last year.
