Guyana has 6000 regular military compared to 150,000 in Venezuela so there's little chance that Guyana could stop the annexation of Essequibo.
However, Exxon owns all the oil offshore in Guyana and there's no chance that the US military doesn't backup Exxon.
That said, the Guayana Esequiba border dispute is an interesting one that's not going to go away.
