NASDAQ lags. S&P higher and closes at a record level. Dow is higher
The major indices are ending the session mixed. The S&P is closing higher and at a record level. The Dow industrial average is up marginally. The NASDAQ composite index is the days laggard and is closing down on the day after Alphabet disappointed yesterday and ahead of Apples earnings out shortly.
The final numbers are showing:
- The S&P index up 2.71 points or 0.09% at 2945.72
- The NASDAQ index is down -54 points or -0.66% at 8107.76
- The Dow industrial average is up 38.25 points or +0.14% at 26592.64
For the month, the major indices all closed higher:
- The Dow was up 2.56%
- The S&P was up a solid 3.93%, and the
- Nasdaq was up an even more solid 4.9%
Year to date,
- Dow is up 14%
- S&P is up 17.51%
- Nasdaq is up 22.19%
